BECOMING AN OUTDOORS WOMAN (BOW)
Get ready for a truly unique experience. BOW is a hands-on outdoor skills workshop designed specially for women 18 years of age and older who want to learn outdoors skills including hunting, fishing, and many non-consumptive outdoor activities.
If you are looking for an opportunity to learn in a non-intimidating and supportive environment, are a beginner, or want to improve your acquired skills, the BOW program is for you. Women who know some of these activities but would like to try some new ones will also find a place in the BOW program. And if you are looking for the camaraderie of like-minded individuals, BOW is the place to find them. Build self-confidence! Challenge yourself! Enjoy the camaraderie and get OUT OF THE HOUSE!
Patient, knowledgeable instructors make learning a breeze and a pleasant, enjoyable experience. No competition. No pressure. You have the opportunity to try new activities without investing in equipment. All equipment and supplies for the workshops are provided, and you can find out what equipment is best suited to your needs and budget.
A variety of workshops are offered in each of the four half-day sessions. You can choose from workshops such as fly fishing, archery, muzzleloading, waterfowl hunting, backpacking, fishing techniques, campfire cooking, bowhunting, survival, shotgunning, map and compass, rifle marksmanship, camping, and more!

Gloria Turner (Memoirs from an Outdoors-Woman)
As I hang my "Born to Fish…Forced to Work" plaque on my wall, I am reminded of the great time I had at the Becoming an Outdoors–Woman (BOW) weekend. I first learned about BOW last year from my friend Maureen. When we got home from the weekend we told Wendy and Cheryl how much fun we had and all the neat things we learned. This year they signed up to come as well.

Alma Thiessen (Diary of an Outdoors–Woman)
The pre-planning and anticipation for the ninth annual Becoming an Outdoor Woman began months ago, but now, just a week away, I can hardly wait! Stephanie (my daughter) is finally old enough to attend. Only 5 more sleeps! I need to start packing, making lists etc. But what if a snowstorm happens? Pack sweatshirts.
