Cash Donations
Donations by individuals as well as organizations working for the betterment of their community may be designated for specific purposes or for general use. General uses may include land acquisition, habitat improvements, property maintenance, municipal taxes, insurance and administration expenses. Charitable receipts are issued for all donations.
Land Donations
Landowners wishing to ensure their land will always have a role in safe guarding wildlife habitat, may donate their land to the MWF Habitat Foundation and receive a charitable receipt in an amount equal to the market (assessed) value of the property donated. Land which is developed for agricultural or other productive uses is also accepted and would be used at least in part to generate revenue to support other wildlife lands and related expenses for safe guarding wildlife habitat.
Donations of land are held and managed to provide maximum opportunities and resources for creation of wildlife habitat. Bequeathments of land are accepted and the tax receipt issued to the estate. Permanent markers are erected at each property to recognize the donors. Boundary signs are erected and in some strategic locations larger highway signs maybe erected to promote the programs of the MWF Habitat Foundation.
